COVID-19 testing lab open at Wenlock, ready for trial testing: MLA Kamath

Mangaluru: In some good news for Dakshina Kannada and its neighbouring districts, a coronavirus (COVID-19) testing lab has opened at the gooverment-run district Wenlock Hospital here in Mangaluru city.

An announcement in this regard was made by Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath on Tuesday, March 31, on social media. He also informed that the lab will be ready for trial testing from tonight.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the facility, Kamath wrote on Facebook, “Covid 19 Testing Lab at Wenlock Hospital is ready for Trial Testing from Tonight. Thanks to @narendramodi ji #MangaloreSouth #StayHomeStaySafe”

It can be recalled that the entire country has been under lockdown since March 25, in a bid to control the spread of COVID-10. So far, there have been over 1400 cases and 40 deaths in the country. Dakshina Kannada reported a fresh COVID-19 case on Tuesday. Karnataka’s total has gone up to 98.
