Conmen on prowl in city

Mangalore: A man from Delhi who was in Mangalore on a central project at NIT-K, was robbed of a cash of Rs 85,000 by two strangers at MG Road near PVS Junction yesterday.

 

 

 

 

Mohammad Afzal who had come to Mangalore was waiting in a car near PVS Junction, for his friend who had some work in the nearby building. While he was waiting a stranger approached him saying a currency note was lying on the ground. As Afzal stepped out of his car to pick the note, another stranger opened the car doors and walked away with Afzals briefcase which consisted a cash of Rs 60,000, his passport, credit cards, debit card and other documents. Soon after both had vanished from the scene.

Afzal is learnt to be the son of an MLA from Delhi also known that he even has received an SMS from his bank stating Rs 25000 was debited from his account, in all probability by the strangers.

Kadri police have registered a case.In the recent pastThis is the third such case city and a similar case had been reported from Udupi too.
