Mangaluru: Congress should stop misleading citizens during the Covid 19 pandemic, said MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday May 7 the MLA said, “First and foremost, Congress should stop making a mockery of health-care issues. It is not only making false claims about Wenlock hospital, but it is also building an atmosphere in which people are afraid to visit the hospital.”

“All facilities are available at Wenlock hospital for the underprivileged,” he added.

“In the last 50 years, Congress has made no significant contribution to the growth of Wenlock Hospital. Wenlock received no benefits even when U T Khader was the health minister. There were just 12 ICUs at the time. Because of the efforts of MP Nalin Kumar and the BJP government, there are now 70 ventilators. In addition, 20 ventilators are reserved for the needy in private hospitals. As a result, 90 ventilators are available for the poor’s treatment. The capacity of the oxygen cylinders has been increased from six to twelve tonnes. All these are reserved for poor people,” Kamath said.

Further, he said “An oxygen plant will be installed in the next 30 to 40 days. Another 50 ventilators will arrive in the next ten days. The blueprint for the installation of 250 oxygen beds is currently being created.”

Speaking on the availability of Covid report, Vedavyas assured the Covid report will be available within 24 hours.”

Mayor Premananda Shetty, chief whip of MCC, Sudhir Shetty Kannur, and BJP South Mandala president, Vijaya Kumar Shetty were present.
