Mangaluru: "The leaders of the Congress party has been indulging in cheap politics, even though over 20 Indian soldiers were martyred," lamented Dakshina Kannada district BJP president Sudarshan Moodbidri on Wednesday, June 17.
Addressing the reporters at the BJP's district office, Sudarshan said that even though India is facing the Covid-19 crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taught a befitting lesson to China by killing over 43 Chinese soldiers at the border. "However, MLA U T Khader has alleged that Modi did nothing while China attacked our soldiers. Khader should not lie just to gain political mileage. He should make statements only after gathering information," he said.
Sudarshan also accused Khader of showing double standards. "When Modi had started flight services to bring back the Indians stranded abroad, Khader questioned the move claiming that it would increase the Covid-19 cases. Now, he says that thousands of Indians are stranded abroad and the government is not doing anything to bring them back," he said.
Responding to Khader's allegations that BJP MPs and MLAs are supporting illegal sand mining, Sudarshan said, "Illegal sand mining was more only during the Congress administration's regime. Now, the BJP government has been attempting to check the practice of illegal sand mining and transportation," he clarified.
MUDA chairman Ravishankar Mijar and BJP leaders Kasthuri Panja, Sudheer Shetty Kannur, Jagadish Shenava, Ramdas Bantwal, Jithendra Kottari, Prabha Malini, Ranadeep Kanchan and others were present.
