Bantwal: Congress candidate Suresh Pujari won by a margin of 44 votes in the Panjikallu Gram Panchayat by-polls (Bantwal taluk). A total of 776 votes were cast in the election.
Congress candidate Suresh Pujari received a total of 405 votes, BJP candidate D Praveen received 361 votes and 10 votes went to NOTA. The elections were held at the Daddalakaadu school. The counting process began under the supervision of Bantwal Tehsildar Rashmi SR at the mini-Vidhan Sabha on Thursday, November 14 morning.
Congress jubilant over victory
The Congress party is rejoicing over the fact that they have won the by-polls from a constituency represented by a BJP MLA. Former minister Ramanath Rai arrived at the mini-Vidhan Soudha and congratulated the winning candidate Suresh Poojary.
