Cong Candidate U T Khader wins for Third Successive Term in Mangalore

Mangalore : Congress candidate U T Khader contested from Mangalore legislative constituency won the assembly elections.

 

 

 

 

 

U T Khader won for the third successive term with a margin of 29,087 votes to nearest competitor BJP candidate Chandrahas Ullal.  The political analysts forecasted that SDPI and independent candidates are likely to pose setback to U T Khader in winning the assembly elections this time. U T Khader secured 69,114 votes, while BJP candidate Chandrahas Ullal could get only 40,027 votes.  SDPI candidate Mohammed Akram Hassan secured 4,805 votes, CPI (M) candidate K Krishna Salian secured 3,798 votes, JDS candidate Abdul Aziz Malar and KJP candidate K Ravindra Shetty secured 702 votes each, independent candidates Mohammed Bava secured 810 votes, Mohammed Hanif secured 644 votes, Farouq secured 513, Kabeer Ullal secured 400 votes and Alfred Dsouza secured 380 votes.
