Mangaluru: Close on the heels of District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary ordering opening of clothing stores in Dakshina Kannada district from Thursday onwards, MLA UT Khader has criticised the decision.

Questioning if this kind of careless decision was need at this juncture of time when Corona cases are spiking in the district, Khader said that the minister and the DC had recently said that there is no scope for opening of the clothe stores in the district, However, they have , all of a sudden taken a different stand.

Warning that the government will be held responsible if there is hike in corona cases in the district, Khader said that it is unscientific that liquor shops and clothe stores are opened in the district and movement of public transport has been prohibited.

He also said that testing kits are not available at Wenlock Hospital, which has been dedicated for COVID-19.

“Testings are not happening efficiently in Wenlock Hospital and people are also suffering because they are unable to get treatment for other ailments,” he said adding that while it is the duty of the government to provide basic facilities, the government has been making faulty decision, foregting its duties.
