Bantwal: The differently-abled boy who wrote his SSCL exams using just his toes, on Monday, August 10, cleared the examinations by scoring 424 out of 625 marks, thereby being placed in the first class category.
Kaushik Acharya (15) is a resident of Kanchikar Pete and wrote the exams with his feet as he does not have hands. He went viral for his grit and determination during the SSCL exams which were held from June 25 to July 4. His gusto was even noticed and praised by Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar, who posted a picture of the boy sitting on the floor and writing the exams on his Facebook wall.
The Minister later met the boy and, addressing him as ‘Putta’, Kumar told Kaushik that he is an inspiration to many.
Kaushik, a student of SVS Kannada medium school, is the second son of Rajesh Acharya and Jalajakshi Acharya. He began writing with his toes in the first standard. The boy also does well in extracurricular activities also.
