Blue Angels Choir, NewsKarnataka to host ‘Carol of the Bells’ choir contest

Mangaluru: Blue Angels Choir, in collaboration with NewsKarnataka, is hosting ‘Carol of the Bells’; an online Christmas carols-singing competition.

The competition will be held in four categories; 4 to 10 years (solo), 10 to 16 years (solo), and above 16 (solo and group).

Registration for the competition is free and open to all. The last date to send in your entries is December 22.

There will be a winner and a runner-up in each category and the list of winners will be announced on January 1, 2021. A bonus prize will also be awarded for the highest views in each category. NewsKarnataka, the official web partner, will feature the winners and runner-up entries on their Youtube channel.

Winners will be awarded a cash prize, gift vouchers and other exciting goodies. The entries that meet their criteria will have their video uploaded on their Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=blue+angels+choir).

About Blue Angels Choir:

Blue Angels Choir came into existence on January 1, 2014. Initially named PADUA BLUE ANGELS, as most of the singers were from Padua Institutions, the group was started with the intention of performing in church for various occasions. Rev. Fr. Michael Santhumayor is the mentor and Denzil Pereira is the co-ordinator of this group.

Over the years, Blue Angels Choir started staging performances in public, music concerts of various Konkani singers and as micro bands for receptions, private gigs and corporate events, also leading Tsize worship.

The group sings in four voices (soprano, tenor, alto and bass), which makes it unique. Blue Angels Choir has sung for more than 140 choirs and has given TV and radio programs as well. They have done 20 musical experiments till date and it’s the first group to come up with a Konkani medley. Till now, they have released five covers on YouTube, the recent one being a collaboration with renowned Konkani singer Prajoth D’sa.
