Mangaluru: Christian candidates contesting from the Indian National Congress in the upcoming Mangalore City Corporation elections met Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha and sought his blessings.
Lancelot Pinto (Bejai – Ward No : 31), Naveen R D Souza (Bendur – Ward No : 38), Jacintha Vijay Alfred (Falnir – Ward No : 39), Ashith George Pereira (Kankanaday-Valencia – Ward No : 48), A C Vinayraj (Court – Ward No : 40), Kirana James Peter (Shivabagh – Ward No : 34) and Gayathri Aranha (Kulai – Ward No : 9) are candidates who met with the Bishop.
They were acompained by Shalet Pino, district president of the Mahila Congress and other community leaders. All the christian candidates promised the Bishop that they would work for the betterment of society and development of the city.
The Bishop blessed all the candidates and wished them good luck.
