Mangaluru/Bengaluru: The South Western Railway has announced that the Bengaluru-Mangaluru Central special express train will temporarily be suspended. The train, which operates four days a week, has been suspended due to poor patronage, a notification issued by the zonal railway division on Friday said.

While the Bengaluru-Mangaluru service (Train 06515/16) will be cancelled from October 7, the Mangaluru-Bengaluru service will be cancelled from October 11.

The KSR Bengaluru-Mangaluru Central, a tri-weekly express train that runs via Mysuru, has also been revised.

“Train No. 06517 KSR Bengaluru – Mangaluru Central Tri-weekly Express will run from KSR Bengaluru on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday instead of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with effect from 07.10.2020. Train No. 06518 KSR Mangaluru Central – KSR Bengaluru Tri-weekly Express will run from Mangaluru Central on Thursday, Saturday and Monday instead of Thursday, Friday and Saturday with effect from 08.10.2020,” the notification read.

Meanwhile, both sides of the Bengaluru-Mysuru special train (06539/06540), which runs six days a week, will also be from October 7.

Passenger train services at the Mangaluru Central railway station resumed just a month ago after they were suspended due to the COVID-19 lockdown across the country.
