Moodbidri: Indian universities Union, New Delhi and Youth and sports department central government jointly organised the 30th National Youth festival at Indore Devi Ahilya university.
Artists from Alvas college presented ‘Deva Vriddharu’, a short play by popular writer and artist Jeevan Ram Sullia and bagged first prize. The students from Alvas also bagged second prize for one act-play ‘Barbareeka’ and third prize for Banjara a dance performance.
The college also won the overall championship in the festival held.
Universities from all over India participated in the contest. It is for the 9th consecutive time, students have won first prize for short play directed by Jeevan Ram.
Alvas director Dr Mohan Alva congratulated all the artists from the college for their achievement.
