Mangaluru: “If anyone attended the Tablighi Jamaat event at the Nizamuddin mosque in New Delhi, they should inform the same by calling the toll free number 1077 or contact the District Health Officer at the earliest,” informed Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Wednesday, April 1.
It can be noted that thousands gathered at the Markaz Nizamuddin mosque in New Delhi for a religious event recently and more than a hundred attendees have tested positive for COVID-19. After this, a nationwide manhunt is on for suspected COVID-19 cases.
This order comes after rumours started doing the rounds that a person from Uppinangady attended this religious event and returned to the DK district afterwards.
