180 cyclists spread traffic awareness through bicycle rally

Mangaluru: ‘Ride for Traffic Awareness’, a 10-km bicycle rally, was jointly organised by KCCI Mangaluru, Rotary Club Mangaluru and the Mangalore Bicycle Club. Around 180 cyclists participated in this event.

Flagged off at the Mangaluru Stadium, the cyclists travelled through Urva Stores, Urva Market, Mannagudda, Ballalbagh, PVS, Bunts Hostel, Navabharath Circle, Sri Venkataramana Temple Square, Car Street and Mannagudda before finally culminating at Canara High School Urva Grounds.

Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by chairman of the Organ Donation India Foundation and chief promoter of the Pandit Health Resort & Spa Lal Goel, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, he appealed to all the participants to create awareness not only about following traffic rules but also about organ donation among their families, friends and relatives.

On the occasion, a memorandum on traffic improvements, to be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, was read.

The programme was conducted by renowned anchor RJ Anurag.

President of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Issac Vas, president of the Rotary Club Mangaluru Rtn Jathin Attavar, president of the Mangalore Bicycle Club Dijaraj Nair, chairman of Global TV N V Paulose and Aditya Pai were also present.
