Mandya: While the BJP has released its list of ‘star campaigners’ for the upcoming by-poll to be held on December 5, an interesting development has taken place.
Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh has extended her support to the party candidates being fielded in 15 Assembly constituencies.
Reports suggest that as Sumalatha had gained support from the BJP during the 2019 general election campaign in Mandya, she has decided to support the BJP by-poll candidates in their campaigning this time.
The party sources have informed that BJP chief Amit Shah and Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa have requested Sumalatha to campaign for the BJP and as per their request, she has already agreed to campaign for two out of 15 constituencies.
Meanwhile, BSY has decided to release maximum funds for Sumalatha’s Mandya Lok Sabha constituency for development purpose.
