Mandya: MLA K Suresh Gowda on Saturday April 24 here alleged that the administering of the expired Remdesivir medicines has increased death rates among Covid-19 patients.

Speaking to media persons he said that this unfortunate statistics is due to government order that allowed administering the medicines that expired in January. The MLA said that the Health department officials claimed that the 12-month-old medicine was being administered due to government orders.

“If claim of the government that it has sufficient stock of Remdesivir is true, why the government ordered the use of expired medicine? But, the government is flouting the norms by not following the rule to use expired medicine,” he alleged.
