Mandya: The secretary of Milk Producers Association was thrashed and locked up in a room in Marasinganahalli village, Maddur, Mandya.
The victim is M Gooligowda, a resident of Marasinganahalli. A case has been registered with the Besagarahalli police station against the president and the directors of the Milk Producers Association for physically assaulting Gooligowda.
Reportedly, Gooligowda was attacked for questioning Association President Marikenchegowda, Vice President Sukanya, Directors Vishakanta, Parvathamma, Neelamma and Puttaswamy regarding the increase of water in the milk being supplied to the Milk Producers Association.
According to sources, a verbal clash took place between Gooligowda, and the president and the directors on Thursday, May 30, during a regular meeting. Later, Gooligowda was physically assaulted and locked up in a room in the Association’s office.
It is said that Gooligowda had filed a complaint regarding the increase of water in the milk supplied with the Besagarahalli police station, enraged by which the president and the directors had attacked him and locked him up in a room.
The police upon getting the news of the incident, rushed to the spot, released Gooligowda from the unlawful restraint and admitted him to K Gurushantappa Memorial Hospital in Maddur.
A case has been registered based on Gooligowda’s complaint.
