Pandavapura: “I-T raids by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government on selected political leaders like former DCM Dr G Parameshwar and others looks very suspicious,” said former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the renovated Sri Mahadeswara Temple. Addressing the gathering he said, “The Income Tax (I-T) Department, Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) all come under the Central Government. They conduct raids based on credible information. But the pattern of raids conducted in the recent past on a few political leaders looks very suspicious. The BJP is trying to bring those who are against them under control.”
Speaking on Dr Paramaeshwar’s personal secretary Ramesh’s suicide, HDK said, “There was no need for Ramesh to take such a hasty decision. Investigations do happen, but I don’t know why he committed suicide. This has raised several questions. Nevertheless, everything will be out once the investigations are done.”
Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plogging on Chennai beach, he said that such activities should make people aware about cleanliness and that the ban on usage of plastic is a good sign.
He also spoke about the Janata Dal (Secular) party’s preparations for the upcoming by-polls.
