Mandya: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is already facing a tough time with an alleged audiotape that reportedly has a recording of him speaking about the disqualified MLAs. But, disqualified Karnataka MLA Narayana Gowda has now claimed that he would support BSY because it was he who allocated Rs 1000 cr for ‘developmental works’ in his constituency, suggesting that there was no ‘Operation Kamala’ behind his decision to quit his party.
Narayana Gowda represents Krishnarajpet. He had said that BSY (when the HK government was in power) promised him Rs 1000 cr for the development of his constituency.
“I was taken to BSY’s residence one day one someone at about 5 am. BSY was offering prayers at that point in time and hence he asked me to wait. During that meeting, BSY promised me Rs 1000 cr for developmental work, which he did without fail. Now tell me, why I would not support such a great leader,” said Gowda adding that he had demanded Rs 700 cr for his constituency, but BSY said that he would give additional Rs 300 cr.
