K R Pet: In the backdrop of the fast approching by-polls, the election heat in the constituency is rising and on Saturday, November 29 evening, a fight broke out between JD(S) and BJP workers. Subsequently, a complaint and a counter complaint were registered in the police station by the opposing parties in this connection.
According to the complaint filed by the BJP workers, party worker Karthenahalli Suresh Sheelanere had been to a village in a hobli in K R Pet at 8.30 PM on Saturday, when a group of JDS workers led by Ganada Nanjappa stopped him and beat him up with an iron rod and tried to stab him with knives. “They used foul language and told him (Suresh) that only people from the JD(S) can enter the village and no BJP workers are allowed. They threatened to kill any BJP members who go to the village,” the BJP workers alleged in their complaint.
After the incident, Suresh received first aid at a local hospital and was then taken to a hospital on Mysuru for further treatment.
