Centenarian woman casts vote in KR Pet, sets example for others

KR Pet: The ongoing by-election is witnessing some interesting developments. In the KR Pet constituency, where disqualified MLA Narayana Gowda has locked horns with his biter rivals K B Chandrasekar of the Congress and Devaraju of the JD(S), a centenarian has cast her vote.

Sannamma (106), a resident of the Sollepura village under the Kikkeri hobli limits, arrived with her grand children at the polling booth and cast her vote. Later, she posed for the journalists.

Her photo is now being used by the state information department and the election commission to attract more voters to the polling booths.

Meanwhile, no untoward incidents have been reported from the KR Pet constituency, even though it is witnessinga stiff competition between the three major political parties. Tight police security has also been arranged across the constituency to maintain law and order in the region.
