Apathetic Halaguru Nadakacheri officials make public suffer

Mandya: The negligence by irresponsible officials in the revenue department of ‘Nadakacheri’ in Halaguru, Malavalli, is taking its toll on the general public.

People here are complaining that due to the unnecessary leaves taken by the Deputy Tahsildar, none of their work is being done in the ‘Nadakacheri’. The public visit the office frequently to get their jobs done but the officials there are either on leave or do not respond.

The people of Halaguru say, “Documents are not being issued even after a month of applying for them. The staff here does not give proper information regarding the necessary. They only speak of problems. Every time they give reasons such as the information given is not correct, computers are not working, there are no paper sheets, Deputy Tahsildar is on leave, cupboard keys are missing etc.”

“The farmers of Halaguru have to visit the ‘Nadakacheri’ every now and then to get their work done which is very frustrating. We have complained about this to the Tahsildar’s office but no action has been taken so far. The legislator is least bothered about the constituency. We hope the officials and authorities concerned do something about this,” said Puttegowda, farmer leader from Kodihalli village.
