Mandya: To honour the great leaders, martyrs and patriots of our country and mark 75th Anniversary of Independence Day in 2022, a nation- wide campaign ‘Amrita Mahotsava Bharatha at 75’ that comprises cycle Jatha, walk for the nation and freedom run will be held, said Deputy Commissioner S Ashwathi.
She was speaking at the inaugural program in front of DCs office here on Thursday April 1.
In August 15, 2022, we will celebrate 75th year anniversary of our Independence and starting from now and for a period of 75 weeks, various programs will be held in this regard, she said.
Shailaja VR, additional Deputy Commissioner said the program was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi through virtual media on March 12 and the same was launched in Mandya at Satyagraha Veera Soudha in Shivapura on the day in the presence Deputy Commissioner and District in-charge.
The jatha was held in Mandya from Deputy commissioner’s office to Kaveri park. Various department officials, school and college students, NSS students participated in the Jatha.
