Mandya: From the past couple of days, rumours have been doing the rounds that there will once again be a political face-off between Kumarswamy’s and Ambareesh’s families.

It can be recalled that by-elections are to be held in the 17 constituencies where the MLAs were recently disqualified by former Assembly speaker K R Ramesh Kumar for denying their respective party’s whip to appear for the trust vote on July 23.

The K R Pete constituency, which falls in the Mandya district, will also go to polls. After suffering a humiliating defeat in the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency recently, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy will reportedly try his luck again in the Assembly by-elections. Now fans of the Late “Rebel Star” Ambareesh want his son, Abhishek Ambareesh to take a plunge into the political arena.

During the campaign ahead of the elections in the Mandya LS constituency, Kumarswamy and many JD(S) leaders had made disrespectful remarks against Sumalatha Ambareesh. This did not sit well with Ambareesh’s fans. After Sumalatha’s victory, his fans are sure that Abhishek will win the elections if he chooses to contest as an independent candidate.

However, Abhishek has dismissed the news. He revealed to a news channel recently, that his priority is films and he will soon be announcing his second film as a lead actor. He also said that he may enter politics after a few years, depending on the prevailing situation.
