Suntikoppa Police nab coffee estate writer for growing ganja illegally

Madikeri: A coffee estate writer accused of growing ganja illegally at a coffee estate in the Garagandur village in Somwarpet, was arrested by the Suntikoppa Police on Tuesday, December 17.

According to police sources, the accused, Unnikrishna was working as a writer in Shankarappa’s coffee estate.

When the police, based on credible information, conducted a raid on the estate, it was found that ganja plants were illegally planted. The police immediately arrested Unnikrishna and took stringent action against the estate owner, Shankarappa.

According to the instructions of Superintendent of Police Suman D Pennekar, a team led by DySP of Somwarpet Sub Division P K Muralidhar comprising Kushalnagar Circle Inspector Mahesh, Suntikoppa Sub Inspector Thimmappa B, ASIs Ramesh and Ganesh P M and staff Sathish U A, Punith Kumar conducted the raid.
