M’keri police sucessfully detain 4 culprits who stole guns from Retd. Army personnel

Gun CrimeMadikeri: The district police have been successful in arresting four people who were involved in gun robbery. The incident had created an atmosphere of fear among the locals here.

The accused identified as Sulliyada Deepu Kumar (30) from Virajpet, Appachanda Monnappa (36) from Heggalla village, Kambeyanda Ponnappa (36) from Kakkabe and T M Suber (39) have robbed ‘Utilities French Montana A 787’ and ‘Hollis & Sons Issac Percussion Rifle 4 bore’ from Retd. Army officer K G Utthaiah.

Reportedly, the worth of the guns are Rs 2.50 lakhs.

The robbery took place under the jurisdiction of Napoklu police, and the police department has registered a case.

Under the lead of District Superintendent of Police, Dr Suman D Pennekar, and the guiadance of DySP Sunder Raj, Inspector N C Nagegowda, Sub Inspector Shanmugam K K Dinesh, Nagraj, S Kaddannanavar, constable K B Manoj, DCIB personnel Yogesh and Niranjan were involved in the operation.

Reportedly, one more accused who is involved in the case is absconding.
