Bengaluru: As per the direction of the district in-charge minister V Somanna, the Madikeri taluk administration issued cheques of Rs.2.5 lakhs each to the daughters of Narayanachar, chief priest of Talacauvery, who died in a landslide on August 5.
Five persons including Narayanachar and his wife died in the landslide.
Earlier the cheques were returned as the daughters had changed their name and religion after marriage.
Now based on the direction of the minister, cheques have been issued in their new names- Namita Nazrath and Sharon Fernandes.
