Madikeri: A Mahout suffered severe injuries after an elephant launched a deadly attack on him at Dubare Elephant camp in Kushalnagar on Sunday.
Karthik, an elephant undergoing training at the camp gored his Mahout Naveen with its tusks. In the attack, Naveen’s stomach was split open.
He was rushed to Primary Health Centre and then taken to a hospital in Mysuru.
Karthik is said to be a ferocious tusker who killed two persons a few years ago and was hence brought to the camp for taming.
