Madikeri: “Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s decision to withdraw the compensation of Rs 10 lakhs sanctioned earlier by him for the victims of police firing in CAA protest has proved that the BJP wants to play politics even over innocent people’s death”, said KPCC working president Eshwar Kandre.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, December 25, he said, “CM BSY is influenced by some of the fringe organizations and on their pressure he is trying to withhold the compensation amount. This is condemnable. People of the state will teach BJP a lesson for their anti-people stand.”
He demanded a probe into the police firing case by retired judge of the state high court.
“The government is trying to hide its mistakes by appointing Magistrate to investigate the matter”, he added.
Lashing out at the BJP government at the Centre he said that both CAA and NRC are against the people of the country and by implementing the same, the BJP has gone against the Indian Constitution. “The Central government is creating emergency-like atmosphere,” he said.
