Madikeri: In a big embarrassment to the BJP leaders, both the BJP MLAs from the district skipped the flood review meeting and tour of the newly sworn minister S Suresh Kumar.
As per the instructions of CM BS Yediyurappa, Suresh Kumar is carrying out a flood review meeting and visits in the district. He visited flood-hit Kushalnagar, Koppa, Virajpet, Tora and surrounding areas. He was accompanied by senior officials. But for the embarrassment of the minister, no BJP leader turned up to receive him in any place. Both the MLAs KG Bopaiah and Appachchu Ranjan, who were nurturing the ministerial ambitions skipped the flood review meetings and visits.
“Both the MLAs are totally unhappy with the BJP. That is why they didn’t turn up for any meetings,” said a senior BJP leader from Madikeri.
