4,500 crore annual loan for dist released

Madikeri: Deputy commissioner Charulatha Somal released the LEAD bank’s Annual Loan scheme for Kodagu District of Rs 4,500 crores for the year 2021-22 on Wednesday, March 17.

Speaking at a district-level special coordination committee meeting, DC Charulata said that the lockdown would have worsened the economic conditions of the public and advised to effectively implement the district’s annual loan scheme by issuing loans to farmers.

Mysore Zonal Assistant General Manager, Ravichander, said that the district’s annual loan plan for the year 2021-22 will be Rs 4,500 crore, 87 percent of which is Rs 3,900 crore dedicated to the Priority Zone. He said the authorities should strive for all-round development of the district.

Lead Bank Head RK Balachandra said that the district’s annual loan scheme is launched by Lead Bank every year. Kodagu is an agriculture-based district, Thus emphasis is given to agriculture and the priority sector, he noted.
