Kodagu: Three kalasas on top of the famous Bhagandeshwara temple’s gopuram fell after getting struck by lightning on late on Friday evening.
According to the local devotees, the kalasas that fell after the lightning strike were three of five that were installed on top of the gopuram after various religious rituals.
The devotees now fear that the incident is a bad omen and have urged the temple management to perform relief homas.
Meanwhile, temple management president B S Thammaih has informed that the new kalasas will soon be installed atop the gopuram.
