Dandeli: Police arrested a woman on Saturday June 12 for allegedly giving a contract to kill her husband.
Tejaswini Sutar, a resident of Gaothan village, was outraged by her husband Ankush Rama Sutar’s repeated scolding for her excessive use of her cellphone and for being infertile. She called her friend Vanita Chauhan and informed her of her plan to murder her husband.
Tejaswini was informed that she would be required to pay Rs 30,000 for the murder.
Shantaram Patil, a resident of Nandagad taluk in Belagavi district, and a young boy arrived in Dandeli about 11 p.m. on Friday and attempted to garrotte Ankush along with Tejaswini.
Angush called out for help, and the trio escaped as his brothers came running in response to his cries.
Tejaswini and Shantharam were later arrested on Barchi Road in Dandeli by police.
