Karwar: Social activist Rajashekar Mulali has demanded that the voters of the Uttara Kannada district should fully cooperate with the aspirants for the presidency of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad.

Speaking at a press conference in Karwar district on Saturday March 27, he said that the Kasapa Central Committee’s election will be held on May 9 and the state-wide election campaign will soon begin.

“In the present day, the Kannada Sahitya Parishad is caught in the shackles of politics and plunged into corruption and nepotism,” he said. Kasapa needs to be free from politicians, he added.

He further said that the Sahitya Parishad of Uttara Kannada District with its historical and cultural history should be allowed to serve the scholars honestly. “Karnataka is also facing many flaming problems. Border friction has intensified many of the basic issues, including interstate ground-water disputes, the employment of Kannadigas in the private sector, and the plight of Kannada schools across the border,” he said.

“I will make an honest effort to the Kannada Sahitya Parishad as an institution. I will work with the aim of digitizing the council and delivering Kannada literature to people in every corner of the country, providing legal aid for the protection of the frontier Kannadigas and the implementing the job reservation in the private sector are their aims,” he said.
