Karwar: Two young men drowned while swimming in Kengre river in Sirsi Taluk of Uttara Kannada district.
The deceased are identified as Vinayaka Madiwala(24) and Dinesh Baindur(30). They were working in a hotel in Sirsi.
The police suspect that they might have moved to the deeper area of the river and might have drowned there.
The recent rain had damaged the hotel building where they were employed and was being repaired. The incident happened when the duo was returning after lunch from their hotel owner’s house. They got into the river which was on their way back to the hotel.
A case has been registered in Sirsi police station.
