Karwar: A mother and daughter duo, traveling to Rathnagiri in Maharashtra were stranded in Karwar bus stand on Sunday.
The duo, who started their journey from Kodagu district to reach Maharashtra were left in lurch due to the complete lockdown in the state on Sunday.
However, a traffic policeman came as a saviour for the two.
The mother and daughter, who are home nurses by profession had come to Kodagu several months ago. They could not return to Maharashtra due to the lockdown.
However, when relaxations were made under lockdown 4.0, they decided to return to Maharashtra and thus reached Karwar on Saturday night.
Due to the complete lockdown on Sunday, the two failed to get any food and were seen struggling at Karwar bus stand.
When traffic cop Ninganna Jakkannanavar spotted the duo, he came forward to provide them food and water.
He also made sure that the two were safely accommodated in a hotel.
The cop said that once the buses start plying the two will be sent to Maharashtra via Goa.
