Karwar: State women and child welfare and district in-charge minister Shashikala Jolle has directed the concerned officials to promptly and accurately gather information about crop and house damage caused by the recent floods.
Chairing a meeting on the flood relief activities at the Deputy Commissioner’s officer on Thursday, October 24, she said, “Due to the recent floods, the lives of cattle and people have been devastated. Crops and houses have also been damaged in the deluge and the relief work has already been carried out. I have received complaints that some of the damaged houses have been dropped from the surveys. The concerned officials must see to it that even the houses that were not affected in the floods should be included in the survey so that there is no injustice.”
“Agricultural lands in Mundgod, Haliyal and several other areas have been damaged, along with farm houses in hilly areas and in the agricultural lands. This shall be included in the survey and a wholesome survey shall be carried out throughout the district,” she added.
