Karwar: Relatives of an accident victim and the general public staged a protest against Government Hospital in Sirsi alleging that the hospital staff were not attending to the post mortem duties properly. The angry protesters staged a roadblock as well.

Kiran Achari and Suraj Mestha met with an accident on the Yellapura road of Sirsi. Kiran succumbed to his injuries while being taken to Hubballi for medical treatment. Kiran’s body was taken to Government Hospital Sirsi for postmortem, but even after four to five hours the hospital staff did not attend to Kiran’s body and gave irresponsible answers to the relative when they enquired.

The relatives and the public objected to the same and protested by blocking the road. Later, the police persuaded the people to stop their protest and cleared the road.
