Karwar: Sector officer of the Lok Sabha election from Karwar legislative assembly Ravikanth R Malsekar (52) died of a heart attack here.
He was working as deputy director of the social welfare department in Ankola.
Ravikanth had received information about a vehicle carrying alcohol illegally and was on his way to conduct a raid.
He experienced chest pain on the way and his driver immediately took him to Kamala Bai hospital in the city.
He died in the hospital as the treatment could not save him.
