Karwar: Nethrani island, which is a famous scuba diving destination of Uttara Kannada district witnessed a boat mishap on Monday. However, ten crew members who were in the boat have been brought to safety.
Shaima, a boat from Mangaluru had gone fishing deep sea and due to turbulent weather conditions, the boat had anchored at Karwar bunder. Once the weather seemed favourable for a sail, they boat started its journey towards Mangaluru, but in an unfortunate turn, the boat hit a rock at Nethrani Island. Noticing that the boat had suffered severe damages, boat owner Mohommed contacted Karwar Coastal Security police.
However, a boat nearby had already come to the rescue of the distressed boat and rescued 10 crew members. A case has been registered at Murudeshwar police station.
