MIA bomb threat: M’luru police didn\'t fail, miscreants did, says KSE-1

Siddapura: State rural development and panchayat raj minister K S Eshwarappa has lauded the Mangaluru City Police for delicately handling the bomb threat at the Mangaluru International Airport.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, January 21, he said, “Some miscreants had planned to harm and claim the lives of many by placing a bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport. But the Mangaluru Police successfully took cognizance of the situation and foiled all their criminal plans. They have also traced the man behind the act and have begun search operations. At this juncture, we really need to appreciate the duty-conscious Mangaluru Police and thank them. This is not the failure of the police but the miscreants.”

Slamming former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy for alleging that the incident was a "mock drill by the police", he said, “Irrespective of ideologies, all the political parties must stand united in condemning such an act. Blaming the police officials and saying that it was all created by the police is condemnable. Nobody should demoralize the police."
