Karwar: A team of Uttara Kannada district police ran into trouble after getting lost in the dense forest late on Saturday night, making way for several speculations. Fortunately, they were traced after 18 hours, informed District police department sources.

A team of police headed by DySP Shankar Mariyala left for Bare village of the Yellapura near Kaiga to investigate a case. The police van was found parked near the Bare road and the team went walking into the jungle. On their way back they lost their way. With no mobile network, the team could not communicate with anyone.

Another team went into the jungle looking for the first team. However, the missing team had tried to reach Sunkasala area in Ankola hoping to get mobile network. After 18 hours, the missing team was contacted by the district police.

The team members had reportedly said that they had to go into hiding to save themselves from wild animals and once they tackled this hurdle, they lost the way.
