Rosaiah Reddy, a teacher at Birampali lower primary school of Joida taluk in Uttara Kannada district is the suspended teacher.
A video of the teacher beating Janu Thakku Gauli, a student of the fourth standard had gone viral. The hands and legs of the boy were tied up by the teacher while he brutally went beating him.
The video had grabbed the attention of Minister Suresh Kumar, who ordered Belagavi Regional Commissioner to take action.

This is not the first case where the minister personally took action. A couple of weeks ago, a similar video of a teacher beating a child who was unable to pronounce a Kannada word had gone viral. Even in this case, the Minister had initiated action against the teacher.
