Karwar: Four persons have died on the spot due to the collapse of the hill while they were working at the plantation near Idugundi, Yellapur Taluk in Uttara Kannada district on Monday.
Seven laborers had gone to work at a plantation owned by Manjunatha Bhat of Santhebail in the Idugundi village panchayat of Yallapur taluk. The muddy hill has fallen on the workers who were digging mud and putting soil into the plantation.
Bhagyashree edage (21), Lakshmi Doipade (38), Santosh Doipade (18), and Malu Doipade (21) the residents of Gowliwada, near Kiravathi in Yellapur Taluk, were died on the spot.
Taggibai, Sony and Beeru, are out of danger.
The policemen rushed to the spot and the bodies were shipped to Yellapur Government Hospital for postmortem.
