Karwar: In an unprecedented move, Twitter India de-activated the Twitter handle of former union minister, Uttara Kannada MP Anant Kumar Hegde soon after an article by him on ‘Corona Jihad’, criticisin Tablighi Jamaat.
Hegde himself stated that his account has been deactivated. He slammed the Twitter for its decision and alleged that it is following an anti India policy driven by ‘prejudiced intentions’.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Hegde said that he will not apologise for his opinions and further said that his nationalist views are not digested by many.
‘Twitter authorities informed that if I am ready to remove my Corona Virus Jihad statement, they are ready to activate by account. But there is no question of changing my decision,” he said and alleged that the Twitter was ‘selectively targeting’ and this attitude must be probed.
