Karwar: Two more persons have been tested positive for Coronovirus in Bhatkal town of Uttara Kannada district, on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar has informed that with this, the total number of positive cases in the district has shot up to three.
He said that out of the three cases, two had come to Mangalore from Dubai last month, one arrived at Bhatkal via Mumbai. While one case was detected a few days ago, the two new cases were confirmed on Tuesday.
The two new confirmed persons hail from Jali and Siddique street in Bhatkal town and are aged 40 and 65 years.
Elaborating on the details, the DC said that the 40-year-old man had arrived on March 21 from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport and reached home in Bhatkal with his family members in a car.
The 60-year-old had reach Mangaluru on March 18 from Dubai and reached Bhatkal by train on March 20.
It can be recalled that the DC had ordered complete lock down in Bhatkal sub-division till March 31 considering the fact that 40 per cent of the population here have history of travel abroad.
Section 144 has been slammed here. The DC has ordered fumigation of the house of positive persons and their surroundings.
