11-yr-old Aarti Shet from Honnavar to get National Bravery Award

Karwar: Aarti Shet (11) from Honnavar has bagged the National Bravery Award of the Indian Council for Child Welfare for the year 2019.

Aarti had fearlessly saved her younger brother from being gored by a bovine in 2018, when she was only 10-years-old.

Aarti and her younger brother were playing outside their house, when a raged bovine rushed towards her younger brother.

The valiant action of Aarti saving her younger brother was captured in a CCTV camera and later on the clipping also went viral.

The same episode has now bagged Aarti the prestigious National Bravery Award, which will be given to her on January 26 at Rajpath in Delhi.

The award will carry a medal, citation, cash of Rs one lakh and a book voucher worth Rs 10,000.

Aarti is the students of Dinakar Primary School, Dhareshwar, run by the Canara Welfare Trust and daughter of Kiran Pandurang Shet from Navillgaon.
