Chikkamagaluru: As the Lok Sabha election inches closer, all eyes are on Mandya Lok Sabha constituency as the cold war between Congress-Janata Dal (S) and independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh continues. In the meantime, Nikhil Kumaraswamy has conveyed his best wishes to Sumalatha, here on Monday, March 18.

Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who is the JDS candidate from Mandya constituency, had visited the Sringeri Temple to offer puja and take blessings from Sringeri Sharada Peetha seer Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and the junior pontiff.

After meeting them, Nikhil addressed the media and said that the people of Mandya knew how his father Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is and also the relationship between him and the people of Mandya.

Reacting to the questions on Sumalatha contesting as an independent candidate against him, he said, “I wish her all the best for the election.”

He said, “I will work with honesty to maintain the warmth and respect that the people of Mandya have for me and my family.”

“I have come to this temple to pray that all our candidates achieve success as the B-Form has already been handed over to them by the Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda”, added Nikhil.
