NDRF team fails to trace M’luru youth who slipped into river Bhadra

Chikkamagaluru: The 30 member National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team failed to locate the youth who was washed away in the river Bhadra on July 26 at the Amba Thirtha picnic spot, which is located 2 kilometres from Kalasa town.

Kiran Kotian, a 26-year-old engineer working with MCF in Mangaluru, was washed away on July 26. He had arrived at this picnic spot with 13 of his colleagues. He slipped and fell into the river while standing on a boulder in the river and clicking pictures.

On Friday, the district administration sent an NDRF team to the spot but till Sunday evening it failed to trace the body of the missing youth.

Kiran is a resident of Tumbe in the Bantwal taluk of the Dakshina Kannada district. His family members are staying in Kalasa now, waiting for a miracle.
