Chikkamagaluru: Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has continued his attack on Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha for the IED found at the Mangaluru International Airport (MIA), on Monday, January 20.
Speaking to the media in Sringeri on Tuesday, January 21, he said, “I have a doubt that the Mangaluru compol himself must have placed the bomb at MIA. Both the government and the police department are trying to damage the social fabric of the state. I don’t believe some of the police. It is the utmost duty of the government to win the confidence of the people, irrespective of caste and religion. But, currently, the BJP government is trying to blame one community and instigate communal hatred.”
“I urge the police to reveal the truth behind the bomb found at MIA, as there are CCTV footages. I also request them not to come out with a completely different story after a few days," he added.
It can be recalled that earlier, HDK had blamed Mangaluru compol and the entire police department for the police firing during the violence that broke out in the coastal city on December 19, 2019, and resulting death of two people. He had also released a CD showing the alleged police violence.
